When reading, go down the hierarchy: Post title first. Dateline, when the post was written, is next. Then the photo, taken by the site’s author. The photo’s dateline is when and where that photo was taken. The text is typically a historical or cultural reference peripherally connected to the photo. The end citation is bibliographical information on the text.
The site has recently moved to the 2.0 Delta iteration of its format. Beatnik Industries has an underlying grid structure thanks to Blueprint and an initial format based on the Gridline Lite theme for Wordpress by Graph Paper Press. Unless otherwise noted (or if a photo was taken in the ’40s, for example, since I wasn’t alive then), all photos taken by and copyright Nicholas Ziegler / Beatnik Industries – usually with a Canon 5D, but sometimes with a Canon Powershot SD1100IS, Palm Treo 755p cameraphone, Minolta XG-M or Bronica S2A.
Text is typically a direct excerpt from the cited resource, so typographical irregularities are generally intended.
